GAP Program

From Cap and Gown to Career Goals: Walking with Youth Beyond Graduation

The GAP (Growth And Purpose) Program is the only post-high school support program of its kind in East Palo Alto. It serves young adults aged 18–24 who are uncertain about their next steps after high school—whether that's exploring trade schools, community college, careers, or entrepreneurship.

GAP provides the wraparound support young people need to take the next step with confidence. This isn't just about what's next—it's about who they're becoming. Through one-on-one coaching, workshops, paid internships, and deep mentorship, GAP connects young adults to resources, opportunities, and a support system that doesn't quit when the school year ends.

Hope isn't passive—it's something we build, side by side.

Gap Path

Gap Path

GAP supports young adults in the in-between—the space after high school when dreams are still forming and the future feels both wide open and uncertain. Our participants include:

  • Recent high school graduates who aren't ready for a 4-year college

  • Young adults returning from the justice system seeking re-entry support

  • Students from our high school SWAG program transitioning to adulthood

  • Young people facing barriers like trauma, family responsibilities, or financial hardship

We believe some get it now, some get it later—and we're here for all of them, at every stage.
